Job Description: Main Duties & Responsibilities: • To assist in the identification of target villages and communities through the implementation of agricultural surveys at the district level. • To assist the local farmers to identify, priorities and to analyses village agricultural problems. • To assist the creation of local agricultural development committees as appropriate • To assist local farmers to plan local agricultural development initiatives with support from Concern and other agencies. • To ensure that agricultural project activities are implemented in such a way as to promote community ownership and participation. • To assist village leaders to ensure that the poorest and most vulnerable groups in the community (including women) are targeted and included in all agricultural programme activities • To deliver training and ongoing support to local farmers and agricultural development committees leaders. • Together with the local community leaders, monitor the impact of agricultural programme activities on village life against specified goals and objectives. • To ensure there is ongoing and effective communication between the communities and Concern • To ensure that Concern are aware of local agricultural and rural issues and concerns that will impact upon the project • To identify and be aware of the constraints and opportunities in the projects implementation. • To undertake an evaluation of agricultural programme activities at an appropriate time after its completion (in conjunction with village representatives and Concern personnel) that incorporates the views of the village people including the most vulnerable. Animal Husbandry Related Activities: • Baseline survey for finding out livestock owner needs and the environmental impact of livestock in our target areas. • Asist in the Establish linkages between community and Veterinary Field Unit (VFU) • Follow up vaccination stages in all seasons of year. • Updating of livestock groups knowledge on benefit of animal vaccination (Anthrax spore vaccine, Black leg vaccine, enterotoxaemia vaccine, contagious caprice pleura pneumonia vaccine, Hemorrhagic Septicemia). • Conduct poultry training for beneficiaries regarding poultry keeping, Feeding, diseases prevention (vaccination program), record keeping and poultry management. • Training of female CDFs (community development facilitators) and local extension worker in poultry husbandry and vaccination. • Responsible for documentation of BOQ for all Animal husbandry activities such as poultry keeping, milky goats or sheep, and animal vaccination. • Support beneficiaries to develop cost analyzes and business plan for the poultry keeping, and local vaccinators. CHS & Emergency: • Concern is committed to CHS to ensure downward accountability. Concern activities are guided by CHS standards in all stages both emergency and development projects /programs.
