International Medical Corps is a global, humanitarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and relieving suffering through health care training, relief and development programs. Established in 1984 by volunteer doctors and nurses, International Medical Corps is a private, voluntary, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization.
During the past two decades, International Medical Corps has responded to complex emergencies, as well as to the challenges of transition, in more than 40 countries, states, regions, and territories on four continents. Indeed, International Medical Corps (INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL CORPS (IMC)) was founded to bring needed medical relief and services to the people of Afghanistan and we have since branched out to deliver critical medical services and development to other countries, including conflict zones. We are very proud of our founding purpose in Afghanistan and our continuing service here.
