Objective of the Position:

To lead and support to survey and design of Irrigation projects.

Core Responsibilities and Duties:

  • To conduct independently detailed topographical & hydrological survey of irrigation projects.
  • To lead independently to calculate crop water requirement
  • To lead independently for designing any kind of hydraulic structures (for-up to 5m3/sec flow rate) such as Headwork, Intake, Desilting Basin, Syphon, Superpassage, Acquiduct, HDPE Pipe Crossing, RCC & Masonry Retaining Wall, Falls, Spillway, Canal Section, Canal crossing Culverts & Bridges etc.
  • To produce design calculation report of all above mentioned hydraulic structures by excel sheet or by other soft wares.
  • To prepare any kind of hydraulic structural design drawings;
  • To monitor different infrastructure projects in AKF’s working areas whenever required;
  • Other related tasks given by the National Engineering Manager;
  • To carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects AKF’s commitment to protecting children in accordance with the Child Safeguarding Policy.

Occasional Significant Duties:

  • To assist and prepare estimation of the Irrigation/Infrastructure projects
  • Monitoring and Supervision of Irrigation structures in the regions.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor/master degree in civil engineering with structural design as main subject.
  • Excellent knowledge on engineering estimation
  • Minimum 5 years experience on designing all kind of hydraulic structures independently
  • Through knowledge on topographical (using total station) & hydrological surveying
  • Minimum 5 years experience on designing all kind of hydraulic structures mentioned above
  • Excellent knowledge of Ms Office specially on excel functions
